Report
The Kaiserslautern Integrated Control Center (ILS) received a report of a fallen tree in Börrstadt, whereupon the Winnweiler and Börrstadt fire departments were alerted. The Börrstadt Fire Department found a fallen acacia tree approximately 5 meters long on the Zellertalbahn bridge.
The emergency responders secured the scene against oncoming traffic and cut up the tree with a chainsaw before finally removing it from the roadway. After the roadway was roughly cleared, the street was reopened to traffic. Shortly thereafter, passersby reported another fallen tree on Röderhof. Emergency responders were dispatched to that location as well, where they cut the tree into pieces with a chainsaw and removed it from the roadway.
The Winnweiler Fire Department staffed the Fire Operations Center (FEZ) to handle radio communications and maintain incident records.
