TLF 4000

Tank Fire Truck (TLF 400)

Radio call sign: Florian Winnweiler 1/24-1

The tanker fire truck is an extremely important vehicle, especially in the initial phase of firefighting, as its 4,000-liter water tank allows it to bridge the gap until a permanent water supply is established. From that point on, it can either serve as a buffer tank to supply other vehicles or be used directly for firefighting via its built-in roof monitor.
It also features a very powerful pump and two foam tanks, each with a capacity of 250 liters.

The vehicle’s most notable features are its enhanced capabilities for fighting wildfires; as a result, in addition to an off-road chassis (with single tires), it is equipped with a ground-spraying system, additional wildfire-fighting equipment (firefighting backpacks, D-hoses, and nozzles), and, in particular, a water cannon that can be controlled from the driver’s cab. This enables rapid and, above all, safe deployment in “pump-and-roll” mode during wildfires.

In general, this vehicle is a crucial asset at all incident sites with limited or no water supply (highways, remote locations, wildfires) as well as at those requiring high water output (industrial fires, building fires, roof truss fires, etc.). In addition to firefighting operations, however, the tanker fire engine also offers applications in the field of technical rescue. Thanks to its optimal warning effect, achieved through the rear hatch and the traffic warning system, the vehicle can be deployed on the highway. It is also equipped with gear for technical rescue operations, such as a truck rescue platform and a combined cutter-spreader, which are used in relevant traffic accidents.
