The tanker fire engine is an extremely important vehicle, especially in the initial phase of firefighting, as its 4,500-liter water tank allows it to bridge the gap until a permanent water supply is established. From that point on, it can either serve as a buffer tank to supply other vehicles or be used directly for firefighting via its built-in roof monitor.
This feature is particularly useful in the case of wildfires, as the “pump and roll” technique—that is, discharging water while driving—makes it possible to quickly bring a wildfire under control.
Thanks to its all-terrain chassis, it is particularly well-suited for fighting forest and wildfires.
