About Us

Fire station

Our fire station was newly built in 1990–91 on the southern outskirts of Winnweiler. It not only serves as a base for the local fire department but also houses workshops and other infrastructure for all fire departments in the Winnweiler municipal association. Examples include the respiratory protection workshop with its own filling station, the hose washing and repair shop, the vehicle and equipment workshop, as well as the municipal clothing storage facility and the central hose storage area.
As early as 1998, an extension was built entirely by the firefighters themselves, allowing for a wide range of equipment (e.g., sandbags, oil absorbents, pumps, or additional barrier materials) to be kept readily available on pallets.

Since 2022, the building above the fire station (formerly Netto) has also been part of the Winnweiler Municipal Fire Department. Vehicles that are not needed for the initial response are parked here. It also serves as a storage facility for various emergency response equipment.
