Report
The Winnweiler Fire Department was called to the scene of a tree branch on the roadway because the caller stated that he could not remove it from the road on his own. The HLF 1 was then dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the firefighters determined that it was a small tree that had fallen onto the roadway. They then cut up the wood using a cordless chainsaw and removed it from the roadway. While carrying out these tasks, they secured the scene against oncoming traffic.
Since the team leader had discovered during his reconnaissance that another tree had become entangled in two other trees before it could fall completely, the responsible road authority was notified. Following a report that there were additional fallen trees at the town limits heading toward the B 48, the entire stretch of road was inspected. However, nothing was found there, so the crews concluded their operation.
