The Winnweiler, Lohnsfeld, and Wartenberg-Rohrbach units were dispatched to a traffic accident that had occurred on the L 390 at the intersection with Industriestraße. The accident involved a collision between two passenger cars, each with one occupant. When the first responders arrived, both individuals were already outside the vehicles.
While the HLF 1 response team provided care for those involved until the arrival of emergency medical services, arriving backup vehicles secured the accident scene from oncoming traffic by completely closing the L 390 between Winnweiler and the intersection with the L 401. In addition, fire safety measures were implemented for the vehicles involved in the accident, and leaking fluids were absorbed using oil absorbent. Once the emergency medical services arrived, the patients were handed over to them.
The police were at the scene with a vehicle to document the accident and also arranged for a tow truck company to be notified. The road remained closed until the accident vehicles had been removed and the roadway had been cleaned. The road was then reopened to traffic.
