Passersby reported a fallen tree in the area of the Winnweiler train station to the Winnweiler Fire Department. A vehicle was then dispatched to assess the situation and found a fallen tree with a trunk diameter of 20 to 30 cm. In addition, branches and broken wood were scattered across the roadway.
The branches were then cut into smaller pieces using a hacksaw and moved to the side of the road along with the broken wood. In addition, a properly trained firefighter performed two stress-relief cuts on the trunk to eliminate any further danger.
