The Steinbach, Börrstadt, and Winnweiler units were dispatched to a traffic accident involving a motorcycle on the L 394 between Steinbach and Dannenfels. The first to arrive was a medically trained first responder, who immediately began providing first aid to the injured motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was responsive and had a stable vital sign, but had sustained an injury to his leg.
It turned out to be a single-vehicle accident in which the motorcyclist veered off the road and subsequently fell. Firefighters set up a full roadblock to secure the accident scene from oncoming traffic. In addition, the fire department assisted the emergency medical services with the necessary procedures until the patient was loaded into the ambulance. He was subsequently transported to an appropriate hospital.
The police were also at the scene to investigate the accident. Once that was completed, the road was reopened to traffic. The firefighters then handed the scene over to the police and concluded their operation.
