On Saturday morning, the fire departments of Winnweiler, Göllheim, and Enkenbach-Alsenborn were alerted to a traffic accident with an unclear situation on the A 63 in the direction of Kaiserslautern, between the Winnweiler and Sembach interchanges. The incident occurred in the area where roadwork is currently underway. The dispatch included additional information that a truck had sideswiped a passenger car.

The traffic backup that had already formed made it difficult for emergency responders to reach the scene, which is why initially only the HLF 1 from the Winnweiler Fire Department drove onto the highway. Once on site, it became clear that the emergency medical services were already at the scene and had assessed the individuals involved. The police had also arrived in the meantime. Since no one was trapped or pinned down and no fluids were leaking, no action was required on the part of the fire department. According to the ambulance service, the three people involved sustained only minor injuries. In consultation with the police, the fire department was therefore able to conclude the response without taking any further action.
