Report
The fire departments of Göllheim, Dreisen, Winnweiler, and Enkenbach were dispatched to a traffic accident with an unclear situation on the A 63 in the direction of Kaiserslautern between the Göllheim and Winnweiler interchanges. Due to ongoing construction in the area, crews are responding from both directions.
Upon the arrival of the first responders, it was confirmed that a passenger car had been involved in an accident in the construction zone between Göllheim and Winnweiler and had come to rest on its side. No other vehicles were involved, and the sole occupant of the car was not trapped and had already freed himself from the vehicle. As a result, he initially received first aid from the fire department and was quickly transferred to the ambulance upon its arrival. In addition to the ambulance, an emergency physician response vehicle (NEF) was also on the scene. The patient was classified as “yellow” (seriously injured) and promptly transported to an appropriate hospital.
Firefighters secured the accident scene against oncoming traffic and ensured fire safety. They also contained spilled fluids. The Enkenbach Fire Department remained on standby at the Winnweiler interchange to divert traffic if necessary. However, this was not necessary, so the vehicles were able to return to the station shortly thereafter. After the Winnweiler Fire Department had assisted with the initial response, the VG Göllheim Fire Department took over the scene. The vehicle was subsequently picked up by a towing company. The scene was then handed over to the police.
