At the request of the police, the Schweisweiler and Winnweiler units were dispatched to an urgent door-opening call in Schweisweiler, as the person had not been seen for some time. In addition, a strong odor was already noticeable.
When the fire department arrived, the police and emergency medical services were already at the scene, and the resident did not respond to the doorbell, knocking, or the emergency responders’ calls. Consequently, the door was opened in consultation with the police. The person inside was found deceased. The responders then ensured that the front door could be locked again and handed the key and the scene over to the police. The fire department was then able to conclude the operation.
