In Börrstadt, a patient needed medical assistance and was unable to open the front door on his own. As a result, in addition to the emergency medical services, the fire departments of Börrstadt, Sippersfeld, and Winnweiler were also alerted. The alert notified the emergency responders that there was a dog inside the building.

The first responders from the Börrstadt Fire Department quickly opened the door, allowing the emergency medical services to gain access to the building. While the emergency medical services attended to the patient, the firefighters looked after the dog and then assisted in transporting the patient to the ambulance. Afterward, the door was properly locked again, and arrangements were made regarding the dog’s care in consultation with its owner. The patient was transported by the emergency medical services to an appropriate hospital. The firefighters were then able to conclude their response.
