Report
Following a traffic accident on the L 401 at the intersection with the L 390, the Winnweiler, Lohnsfeld, and Wartenberg-Rohrbach units were dispatched and proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that three vehicles with a total of seven occupants were involved.
Firefighters immediately secured the scene against oncoming traffic and ensured fire safety around the crashed vehicles. At the same time, they assisted the crew of the ambulance—which had also been dispatched—in assessing and caring for the injured. During the response, one person was classified as “yellow” (seriously injured), while the other six were slightly injured (category “green”). As a result, additional emergency resources were requested. Ultimately, five patients were transported to an appropriate hospital for treatment or further evaluation.
After the police completed their accident report, the vehicles involved were removed from the roadway as quickly as possible. One vehicle was still drivable and was therefore able to leave the scene under its own power. The fire department moved the other two cars to the side of the road and subsequently cleared the road of debris so that it could be reopened to traffic.
