The emergency medical services called on the Winnweiler Fire Department for assistance because a severely obese patient had to be transported from his apartment to the ambulance. The responders used a basket stretcher to carry the patient outside through a ground-floor window. The patient was then transported by ambulance to an appropriate hospital.
