Report
The Sippersfeld and Winnweiler fire departments were called to a routine rescue operation in Sippersfeld. A patient suffering from COPD had his home oxygen tube caught in a door and was unable to free it on his own.
The Sippersfeld Fire Department responded to the scene with one vehicle, including medically trained personnel from the First Responder unit. Once on site, the responders first administered oxygen to the patient via a nasal cannula. At the same time, they freed the oxygen hose by prying the door open with a screwdriver. The patient was then able to resume using his home oxygen supply, after which the responders concluded their operation.
