The Sippersfeld and Winnweiler units were alerted to a call regarding "water in a building" in Sippersfeld. The alert included the additional information that water was dripping from the ceiling in the in-law apartment.
The first Sippersfeld Fire Department vehicle to arrive on the scene determined that the water damage was caused by a malfunctioning under-counter appliance. The water had already spread from the ground floor down into the basement. The firefighters then shut off the building’s water supply and used a wet vacuum to remove the leaked water. The owner was informed that the defect must be repaired by a specialized company before the water supply could be restored. The fire department then concluded the operation.
