Report
The Göllheim and Winnweiler fire departments were called to respond to a leak of fuel from a passenger car on the A 63 highway in the direction of Kaiserslautern, between the Göllheim and Winnweiler interchanges. This section falls within the Göllheim Fire Department’s jurisdiction; however, due to the current construction project, the Winnweiler Fire Department is routinely alerted as well.
The first responders from the Göllheim Fire Department found a passenger car with a trailer on the shoulder of the road; the car had suffered transmission damage, causing fluid to leak. The firefighters secured the scene, absorbed the oil with a binding agent, and notified the highway maintenance department. No action was required on the part of the Winnweiler Fire Department, so its crews were able to stand down.
