During an ongoing large-scale fire and disaster response drill in Börrstadt, a traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred on the K 39 between Langmeil and Sippersfeld. The Imsbach unit provided basic protection at the Winnweiler station for the duration of the exercise and consequently dispatched two vehicles to the scene. In addition, a vehicle from the Göllheim Fire Department provided support, traveling from the exercise site in Börrstadt.
Upon arrival at the scene, the initial report regarding the two vehicles involved in the accident was confirmed. One of them was on the roadway, while the second had come to a stop off the road in a field. Firefighters immediately secured the scene against oncoming traffic and assessed the situation. It turned out that a total of four people were involved, none of whom, however, were trapped or pinned inside the vehicles. Shortly thereafter, a total of three ambulances arrived at the scene. All those involved in the accident were examined by emergency medical personnel, and two of the patients were subsequently transported by ground to a hospital.
A police vehicle also arrived at the scene and conducted the accident investigation. Once the necessary measures had been completed, the scene was handed over to the police.
