Report

A traffic accident had occurred on the A 63 between the Göllheim and Kirchheimbolanden interchanges; the exact location was initially unclear. Consequently, the Göllheim and Winnweiler fire departments were alerted and responded to the scene. The first responders from the Göllheim Fire Department found a traffic accident involving three passenger cars, each with one occupant.

The Winnweiler Fire Department’s vehicles were immediately tasked with securing the scene by completely closing the highway and diverting traffic at the Göllheim exit. In addition, one vehicle was positioned ahead of the end of the traffic jam to warn drivers. During the course of the operation, the right lane was reopened, allowing traffic to pass the accident scene. After a tow truck company removed the accident vehicle, which was no longer drivable, the closure of the left lane was also lifted.

IMPORTANT! In light of recent events, we would like to urge all road users to reduce their speed and turn on their hazard lights as soon as a warning vehicle comes into view. Approaching the end of a traffic jam without slowing down, as well as sudden lane changes, pose a serious danger to all road users and, in the worst case, can even lead to a secondary accident.
