A traffic accident involving two vehicles occurred on the L 401 at the intersection with the B 48, prompting the dispatch of units from Lohnsfeld, Wartenberg-Rohrbach, and Winnweiler. Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that one of the vehicles had two occupants, both of whom appeared to be uninjured. The second car had one occupant, who was subsequently classified as “yellow” (seriously injured) during the initial assessment.

When the first fire department vehicle arrived, no emergency medical personnel were yet at the scene, so the medically trained responders began providing care and first aid to the patient. At the same time, the intersection was secured against oncoming traffic, and fire safety measures were implemented for the vehicles involved in the accident. Shortly thereafter, an ambulance (KTW) and a emergency medical service vehicle (RTW) arrived at the scene. After receiving initial treatment, the seriously injured patient was extricated from the vehicle using a spine board and then transported to the ambulance while being kept warm and fully immobilized. Shortly thereafter, she was transported to an appropriate hospital. The two other individuals involved in the accident were also assessed by the emergency responders but declined transport to a hospital for a final examination.

One of the vehicles involved in the accident was moved to a traffic island by firefighters, in consultation with the police, after the accident report was completed. The scene was then handed over to the police.
