A traffic accident occurred on the A 63 in the direction of Mainz in the exit area of the Göllheim interchange. Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that two vehicles had collided. One vehicle had come to a stop in the exit area, while the second car was on the highway behind the exit area, between Göllheim and Kirchheimbolanden.
Firefighters from the Winnweiler Fire Department initially blocked off the exit and attended to the occupant of the vehicle involved in the accident at that location. The second vehicle involved in the accident was secured by personnel from the Göllheim municipal association. The occupant of the vehicle in the exit area sustained minor injuries and, after the ambulance arrived, was transported by its crew to an appropriate hospital. The police were also at the scene and, after the ambulance departed, took over securing the accident site until the tow truck arrived, allowing the fire department to conclude their operation.
