Shortly after the accident involving the small van (H 027), another traffic accident involving two passenger cars occurred on the A 63 between Winnweiler and Göllheim, at roughly the same location. The Winnweiler Fire Department then dispatched its rescue unit to the scene.
Since the highway maintenance crew was still on site from the accident that morning, they were able to immediately secure the accident scene. When emergency responders arrived, it became clear that the incident was a rear-end collision. The three people involved were treated by paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. After the two ambulances left the scene, the fire department was able to conclude its response.
