The Lohnsfeld, Wartenberg-Rohrbach, and Winnweiler fire departments were dispatched to a car fire on the K 1 between Potzbach and Leithöfen. The dispatch report already indicated that smoke was coming from a public bus.
The first responders from the Lohnsfeld Fire Department arrived to find a minibus whose turbocharger had burst. The vehicle was not on fire and was no longer emitting smoke at that time. The driver, who was the only occupant, was outside the vehicle. Since the minibus was no longer roadworthy, the firefighters moved it to an adjacent dirt road so they could reopen the street to traffic. The operation was then concluded.
