The Kaiserslautern Integrated Control Center received a report of smoke rising right next to the A 63 near the village of Wartenberg-Rohrbach. As a result, the units in Wartenberg-Rohrbach, Lohnsfeld, Imsbach, and Winnweiler were alerted.
The first responders from the Wartenberg Fire Department found that a supervised barbecue fire was the cause of the smoke. The people there were then instructed to extinguish the fire, as the smoke was drifting onto the highway and endangering motorists.
