Report
Concerned passersby reported smoke coming from the area of a power pole near Börrstadt to the Kaiserslautern control center. As a result, the Börrstadt, Steinbach, and Winnweiler units were alerted. Because the exact location was unclear, the command vehicle was initially dispatched to assess the situation. After consulting with the caller again, it turned out that the smoke had not been spotted near Börrstadt but in the area of the solar park near Münchweiler an der Alsenz.
A company was found on site performing cleaning work on the power poles. The work produced a cloud of steam that was mistaken for smoke. Therefore, no intervention by the fire department was necessary.
