The Göllheim and Winnweiler fire departments were called to a car fire on the A 63 in the direction of Kaiserslautern, between the Göllheim and Winnweiler interchanges, in the construction zone. Due to the narrow roadway and the possibility of traffic backing up in the construction zone, units are currently responding from both directions.
The first responders from the Göllheim Fire Department found the affected vehicle on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was no longer visibly on fire, but it showed clear signs that a fire had already occurred. The firefighters then began the necessary mop-up operations. The Winnweiler Fire Department was not needed at the scene and returned to the station.
