In Steinbach am Donnersberg, a person reported a burning bench outside the built-up area in a wooded area. The Steinbach Fire Department responded to the scene with the TLF 8/15 and the LF 10/12. Upon arrival, the firefighters found a smoldering wooden bench, which they were able to extinguish quickly using the so-called “rapid response” method. No additional personnel were required, so the Winnweiler Fire Department merely manned the fire operations center (FEZ).
The district forester was notified of the incident. A police vehicle arrived at the scene during the operation to document the facts of the case.
