The Steinbach unit, along with the swap-body vehicle carrying the AB water supply unit from the Winnweiler unit and the drone unit, were dispatched to a wildfire in the area of the sports field in Dannenfels after a caller from Jakobsweiler reported seeing heavy smoke in that area.
Thanks to a rescue helicopter that happened to be flying over the reported incident site, it was quickly determined that the smoke was caused by smoke grenades that had been set off during a soccer game. The fire department was therefore able to call off the operation.
