The Münchweiler, Winnweiler, and Imsbach fire departments were dispatched to a reported tractor fire on the L 401 near Alsenbrück-Langmeil. The first responders from the Imsbach Fire Department found that the fuse box of the agricultural machine was emitting smoke.
The firefighters disconnected the tractor's battery and cooled the smoldering electronic unit using the rapid-response system on the tanker fire truck. Finally, the affected area was inspected with a thermal imaging camera, and the field where the tractor was located was watered as a precautionary measure in the immediate vicinity.
All other emergency responders were able to turn back before reaching the scene. The police were on the scene to investigate the incident.
