After a motorist called the Integrated Control Center (ILS), the Göllheim and Winnweiler fire departments were dispatched to a burning brush fire on the A 63 in the direction of Kaiserslautern, between the Göllheim and Winnweiler interchanges. The crews inspected the reported section of the highway as well as the adjacent sections in both directions, but were unable to locate the fire.
The caller was contacted again and stated that it might have been dust after all. Since a wide-area search yielded no results and no further calls were received by the ILS, the emergency responders subsequently called off the operation.
