The fire departments of Göllheim, Winnweiler, and Kirchheimbolanden were called to a truck fire on the A 63 in the direction of Mainz between the Göllheim and Kirchheimbolanden interchanges. The Winnweiler Fire Department remained on standby at the Göllheim exit at first.
The Göllheim Fire Department patrolled the stretch of highway from Göllheim to Kirchheimbolanden but found nothing. Nor was any smoking or burning truck found on the subsequent stretch of road leading to Freimersheim. Meanwhile, the Kirchheimbolanden Fire Department checked the opposite section of the highway in the direction of Kaiserslautern but also found nothing. In consultation with the police, the operation was subsequently called off.
