The Winnweiler Fire Department was alerted to a smell of smoke outdoors in Winnweiler and subsequently dispatched one vehicle to investigate. Due to wind conditions, the smell of smoke was at times clearly noticeable in several sections of the street, but it gradually subsided as the investigation progressed. Several blocks were checked, but no cause could be determined. The operation was then concluded without further action.
