A smoke detector connected to a security company had gone off in a business premises in Winnweiler. The security company then alerted the fire department.
Initially, a vehicle from the Winnweiler Fire Department was dispatched to assess the situation. Once on site, it quickly became clear that the alarm had been triggered for no apparent reason. As a result, all other vehicles were able to stand down. The on-site employee was informed that the alarm would need to be inspected by a specialized company afterward. The operation was then concluded without any further action.
