A vehicle emitting smoke was reported in Börrstadt, prompting the Börrstadt, Steinbach, and Winnweiler fire departments to be dispatched. Upon arrival, the Börrstadt firefighters found no fire; however, a faulty battery was likely the cause of the smoke. The firefighters first disconnected the battery, then removed it, and inspected the area with a thermal imaging camera to rule out any risk of ignition. The operation was then concluded.
