The fire departments of Wartenberg-Rohrbach, Lohnsfeld, and Winnweiler were dispatched to a traffic accident with an unclear situation on the L 401 between Lohnsfeld and Wartenberg-Rohrbach. At the same time, an ambulance (RTW) and an emergency medical response vehicle (NEF) were also dispatched.

It turned out that, just before the entrance to Wartenberg, near the traffic island there, a single-vehicle motorcycle accident had occurred in which the motorcycle had collided with a tree. When emergency responders arrived, first responders were already on the scene and had begun resuscitation efforts on the motorcyclist. Emergency medical personnel continued these efforts with the support of the fire department. At the same time, the L 401 was completely closed between the mill at Schlossberg and the Schäfer building materials store. Despite the immediate actions of the first responders and the subsequent medical care provided by emergency responders, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Due to the stressful situation at the scene, the first responders present were supported by emergency personnel and were also offered the opportunity to receive support from specialists in psychosocial emergency care (PSNV).

In addition to the fire department and emergency medical services, the police were also at the scene with several vehicles and began an investigation into the cause of the accident. Half of the L 401 remained closed until midnight.
