On Thursday morning, the Winnweiler Fire Department was dispatched to a traffic accident on the A 63 in the direction of Mainz between the Winnweiler and Göllheim interchanges, which had been reported to the Integrated Control Center via a so-called e-call from the vehicle. The rescue unit was dispatched and located the crashed vehicle near the Göllheim exit, off the roadway and in the vegetation. The driver of the car had managed to free himself from the vehicle and was already being treated by emergency medical services when the fire department arrived.
Firefighters secured the accident scene by completely blocking off the exit. After inspecting the vehicle, they determined that there was no significant damage, no airbags had deployed, and no fluids were leaking. Consequently, no further action was required on the part of the fire department. The scene was subsequently handed over to the police, who took over security measures until the tow truck company arrived.
