Report
The Winnweiler Fire Department was called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident in which a car had crashed into the wall of a residential property. When the firefighters arrived at the scene, which was located not far from the fire station, they found the sole occupant already outside the vehicle.
The fire department’s initial response consisted of having a medically trained firefighter attend to the person and securing the accident scene from oncoming traffic. In addition, the scene was illuminated. The vehicle involved in the accident was then checked for leaking fluids, and only small amounts of coolant were found. After the ambulance arrived, the patient was handed over to the crew. He was classified as “green” (minor injuries). The immediate vicinity of the accident scene was also checked for any other possible individuals involved to ensure that no potentially injured person had left the scene. The search yielded no findings.
The police conducted the accident investigation. Once it was completed, the sidewalk and the street were cleared of debris.
