The fire departments of Börrstadt, Steinbach, Sippersfeld, and Winnweiler were called to a traffic accident on the L 401 on Saturday morning involving a passenger car. According to the dispatch report, the vehicle had rolled over several times, but the driver had already managed to get out on his own.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders found the car a few meters off the road in a field; the sole occupant was already being treated by emergency medical services. The fire department initially secured the traffic scene and subsequently assisted the emergency medical services and the police in searching for the vehicle’s registration documents and by scanning the immediate vicinity with a thermal imaging camera. This ruled out the possibility that any other individuals, who might have been injured, had left the accident scene before emergency responders arrived.
In addition to the ambulance, an emergency medical response vehicle (NEF) was also on the scene. The patient was promptly transported to an appropriate hospital. After the emergency medical services departed, the scene was handed over to the police, and the fire department arrived.
