Due to a very narrow stairwell, the emergency medical services requested the use of a turntable ladder to transport a patient. The crew of the Christoph 66 rescue helicopter—whose emergency physician had rappelled down to the scene—and the ambulance crew had already provided on-site care.
Using the turntable ladder’s stretcher mount, the patient was quickly and carefully lowered to the ground and handed over to the emergency medical services. The crew of the HLF (rescue and firefighting vehicle) assisted with the operation and also brought a crew member from the rescue helicopter that had landed at the fire station to the scene.
