Due to a damaged power line, the towns of Lohnsfeld, Potzbach, and Höringen experienced a power outage. The utility company Pfalzwerke announced that the outage could potentially last longer than 60 minutes. As a result, fire stations in Lohnsfeld and Höringen were staffed as emergency call and information centers (NIS) for the public. A mobile NIS was also to be set up in Potzbach. However, the outage was resolved shortly thereafter, allowing the fire department to stand down.
