A traffic accident involving two vehicles was reported on the A 63 between the Winnweiler and Göllheim interchanges. Due to road construction and the closure of the Winnweiler highway on-ramp, the Göllheim and Enkenbach fire departments were also alerted in addition to the Winnweiler Fire Department. A vehicle from the Winnweiler Fire Department first assessed the possibility of accessing the highway via the closed on-ramp and determined that it was possible, albeit with increased caution.
A short time later, the Göllheim Fire Department reported that the accident site was located exactly between the exit and the entrance to the Göllheim interchange, and that the emergency crews were therefore able to reach the scene. The Winnweiler Fire Department’s vehicles nevertheless proceeded to the accident scene to support the Göllheim crew and take over the task of diverting traffic off the highway. The Enkenbach Fire Department did not need to respond to the scene. On the part of the Winnweiler Fire Department, only the TLF 4000 remained on site as a safety vehicle; the command vehicle and the HLF 1 were able to conclude their operations promptly. Later, the TLF 4000 was relieved by the highway patrol.
