Due to a nationwide disruption of the so-called TETRA network—which is used for digital radio communication by public safety agencies and organizations (BOS)—the Integrated Control Center (ILS) alerted fire department dispatch centers throughout its entire service area. The purpose of this was to ensure that all fire departments could be alerted in the event of an emergency.
The emergency response was called off once the alert system via the digital pagers was restored.
