On the A 63 heading toward Mainz, a traffic accident occurred in a construction zone between the Winnweiler and Göllheim interchanges, involving a vehicle that had rolled over. As a result, the fire departments in Winnweiler, Enkenbach, and Göllheim were alerted. This large-scale response is due to the ongoing construction work in the area.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Winnweiler Fire Department found a car overturned on its roof on the shoulder of the road; however, no one was inside. Shortly thereafter, it became clear that all six occupants had been able to free themselves from the vehicle and were apparently uninjured. Given the relatively straightforward nature of the situation, the crews from Göllheim and Enkenbach were able to wrap up their response promptly. The Winnweiler Fire Department secured the scene against oncoming traffic and ensured the vehicle was protected from fire. They also secured the car to prevent it from tipping over or sliding away.
While operations were underway at the scene, the highway patrol and the Military Police were called in. An LBM vehicle was already at the scene and was able to promptly relieve a fire department vehicle that had been on standby. Shortly after the police arrived, the scene was handed over to them.
