The Winnweiler Fire Department was called to a water leak in an apartment following some home improvement work. Upon arrival, the firefighters found a few millimeters of water in the bathroom of the affected apartment, caused by a drilled-through water pipe. However, the water had already been shut off by the time the fire department arrived. The water damage also affected the building’s power supply.
The fire department informed the tenant that the damage must be repaired by a specialized company and that an electrician must inspect the building's electrical system to ensure it is in working order and certify it as safe. No further action was required on the part of the fire department.
