Firefighters from the Lohnsfeld and Winnweiler fire departments were dispatched to a call in Lohnsfeld after a concerned landlord of a residential building contacted the police, who then notified the fire department. During the response, it became clear that a barn adjacent to the apartment building in question was currently being demolished, and the tenants of the building were concerned—based on various signs—that the gable wall of the barn might collapse onto the building.
The Lohnsfeld Fire Department was able to determine early on that there was no risk of collapse at the time of the incident. However, it could not be ruled out that further work might pose a danger to the residential building, which is why the police were called in. After handing the scene over to the police, the fire department was able to conclude its operation.
