Several large oil stains scattered across the roadway were noticed on a street in Winnweiler. The Winnweiler Fire Department responded with one vehicle and sprinkled the stains with a binding agent so that the road could be cleaned up afterward. In addition, the public works department and the sewage treatment plant were notified. The police were also at the scene to try to identify the possible source of the spill. However, their efforts were unsuccessful.
