In Winnweiler, a passerby reported seeing smoke near the train station. As a result, the Imsbach and Winnweiler fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
After a thorough investigation, the cause of the smoke was traced to a nearby residential area, where a resident was burning wood waste behind his home. Shortly thereafter, the police arrived at the scene and informed the homeowner that burning scrap wood without a permit is not allowed and that he must therefore extinguish the fire. He complied with the request and extinguished the fire on his own. The firefighters were able to conclude their operation and handed the scene over to the police.
