The Wartenberg and Winnweiler fire departments were called to a trash fire in Wartenberg-Rohrbach. Upon arrival, it was determined that pallets and old straps were burning over an area of 2 x 2 meters, resulting in a fire with flames approximately one meter high, which was located in close proximity to vegetation. The firefighters extinguished the fire using a rapid-response tactic to prevent it from spreading to the surrounding vegetation. Subsequently, the burning materials were pulled apart and thoroughly extinguished to prevent reignition. The surrounding area was also checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
The person responsible was informed that this constituted illegal burning. In addition, the Public Order Office was notified of the incident.
