Report
The Sippersfeld, Breunigweiler, and Winnweiler fire departments responded to a reported garage fire in Sippersfeld. Upon arrival, the firefighters found no open flames, and initial firefighting efforts had already been initiated using a fire extinguisher.
After the unit commander, Sippersfeld, conducted a reconnaissance, it turned out that there was a vehicle in the garage that apparently had a defective fuel line. As a result, fuel had dripped onto the still-hot engine, which in turn had caused smoke to develop. Consequently, the vehicle was moved out of the garage, and the engine compartment was cooled using a C-nozzle until a thermal imaging camera confirmed that temperatures were no longer a cause for concern. No further action by the fire department was required. The vehicle remained outside and was handed over to the owner.
In addition to the fire department, the standby ambulance from the Münchweiler branch of the German Red Cross was also on the scene.
