The Lohnsfeld, Wartenberg, and Winnweiler fire departments were dispatched to a reported car fire in Potzbach. Upon arrival at the scene, a slight amount of smoke was observed coming from the vehicle, which was presumably caused by the auxiliary heater. The heater was turned off, after which no further smoke was visible. The firefighters then disconnected the vehicle’s battery to eliminate any further risk. The vehicle’s owner was then advised to take it to a repair shop. The scene was subsequently handed over to the police.
